Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently had an MRI scan because of lower back and abdomin pain. I thought the diagnosis was going to be cysts on my overy/s (I had a hysterectomy 10yrs ago that left my overies). I was supprised when I received a telephone call to go to visit the doctors today. He said he was referring me to a liver specialist as the scan had shown up shadows on my liver. He said they were probably 'blood vessels' but they needed to check. What could they be? About 15yrs ago I had jaundice and I was told that they had found a 'spot' on my liver then but no treatment was needed as I was probably born with it.
Hi Probably there shadows are hemangiomas. Hemangiomas are noncancerous colection of blood vessels. They can be present by birth and no treatment is needed if the patient is asymptomatic. Thank you for contacting healthcare magic.
