What Causes Severe Vaginal Bleeding After Taking Norethisterone?

I am taking norethisterone, but started bleeding last week, I had been fine before. it has gone worse over the last few days, I visited my GP yesterday and they told me to take 2 tablets 3 times aday, I was taking 3 before, today i have had a flood and lost clots that were quite big, should I give them more time, if I get worse should I attend hospital. My GP did a referral yesterday for gyney, I know I have uterine ployps and fibriod. I have no quality of life at the moment, so scared of flooding when at work etc.

I read your query and i appreciate your concern regarding this issue.

According to details it can be the side effect of your birh control pills which you were taking
At present moment, I would advise you for heavy vaginal bleeding to
- Take Tranexamic acid 500mg three time a day for 3-5 days.
- Take mefenamic acid 500mg twice a day in case of cramping.
it will give you symptomatic relief.
After that i will advise you to go for Pelvic Ultrasound to rule out the cause as you mentioned about polyp or fibroid.
But we can not advise you any medicine without confirmation by Ultrasound.
If symptoms remain same after 5 days then consult with Gynaecologist.
