Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband has a severe saltiness in his mouth--he says it feels like an oozing behind his front upper teeth. He's seen the dentist twice--no results--no gum disease, etc. Taken two rounds of drugs prescribed by ENT specialist. All have failed to give any results. This has been bothering him over six months. It's altered the taste of food and the saltiness is continuous.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain salty taste in mouth can be due to tooth or gum related infection most commonly, but in case if it is not the cause then it can also be due to causes like post nasal drip, side effect of medication, upper respiratory tract infection, acid reflux etc..
Consult an ENT expert and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray, throat swab culture, or MRI SCAN can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.. As of now gargle with flavored antiseptic mouthwash.. Drink plenty of water.. Chew sugar free chewing gum..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
