What Causes Severe Rashes And Bumps On The Body While On Metformin?

Within the last few months I have developed a severe rash, bumps all over my body, itchiness that is driving g me crazy. Doctors are stumped by what it is. I have tried everything and I mean everything. My last resort is a dermatologist, hope fully some answer. I am currently on several meds for diabetes, metformin and insulin. I need some help badly any suggestions.

Hi.
As per your case history you are having either urticaria or allergic dermatitis.
My treatment advice is -
1. Avoid using any new products like soap or perfume as it may worsen the condition.
2. Don't take any medication without consulting a doctor as it may worsen the condition.
3. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region twice daily.
4. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days.
5. Other treatment options are oral steroid, hydroxyzine taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
