What Causes Severe Pain On The Bottom Of The Feet?

hello my name is Shamarie Allen. I recently met a man named Bill. He is forty years old and has a lot of foot pain on the bottoms of his feet. it is like a callous on the bottom of his foot and so painful that i`ve seen him cry out in pain. he said that the callous` go deeper than what a regular callous would and it does. it almost goes in a inch or two up into his foot.i don`t know how to diagnous it and he said that he has been seen before but that the doctor he saw said there is nothing to do about it. i will not take that as an an answer. he is to young and has to many years left to be in that kind of pain. please help. General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello. does it occur more in the morning especially on his first step? first if he is overweight he has to lose some weight. 2nd he can soak his feet in warm water bath or roll it over a hot water bottle first in the morning and before he goes to sleep. 3rd at night before sleeping you can apply any liniment that he is not allergic to and put on socks over his feet. 4th go to a podiatrist for further evaluation. last get him to wear comfortable cushioned footwear for it. you can find these online if you do not have it there. search for footwear for plantar fascitis and heel spurs. Calluses are usually thickened skin only over the sole of the feet so i do not think that is the main cause of his pain
