What Causes Severe Pain In The Shoulder When Diagnosed With Fibromyalgia?
Hello doctor I am a 53 yr old female with fibromyalgia. I also have a triglyceride level of 615 that my family dr. has put me on fenofibrate to help lower the triglycerides. I am suffering severe pain in my right shoulder the past two weeks and I have been to an othapedic dr. recently because I also have pain in my right big toe and cannot walk on it or flex it. I am wondering if the two have anything to do with each other. the pain in both are severe. I was reading that fenofibrate can cause rhabdomyolysis. What do you think. There is some nausea but none of the other symptoms
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe pain in the shoulder when diagnosed with fibromyalgia . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like muscle spasm , cervical spondylosis, TMJ problem or nerve compression . But in your case the symptoms are due to fibromyalgia. For now stay calm , take ibuprofen , apply warm compresses to shoulder and arm , do light stretching exercises under expert or acetaminophen for pain and take proper rest. Trapezius muscle trigger point can also cause such symptoms . I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination and treatment . Doctor may order CT scan , MRI along with nerve conduction test and physical examination to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant , anti inflammatory , nerve supplement along with physical therapy . In some cases doctor may recommend surgery or acupuncture .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
