It is now hours later have throbbing pains localized around knee shouldI be concerned about a torn muinsusis? Please tell me how I can heal this Thanks
In all probability you sustained a ligament injury to the right knee. A meniscal injury is also a possibility, however, with the type of fall you had, a ligament stretch or mild tear is a strong possibility. If the pain in the knee area persists even after 24 hours, it will be good to get an MRI of the Knee area, to see for the exact type of injury. However the management in most cases is to give rest to the knee joint. Few types of knee braces are available, with metal or hard plastic on the medial and lateral aspect, which is wrappe3d over the knee joint, and attached with Velcro straps. some movement is possible, but the brace prevents excessive movement and stabilizes the joint. You mat=y have to wear it for about 3 weeks or more, till complete healing of the ligament or meniscal injury, and painless joint movement.
