General & Family Physician 's  Response
Though there is no harm in taking Paya soup, it ha no proven benefit for knee and hip pain.
Osteoarthritis and limb shortening are conclusively co-related due to reduced joint space, protective flexion of muscles at knee and hip.
The pain at knee and hip in arthritis is due to inflammation by friction of the involved bones as a result of reduced joint space and fluid.
I recommend over the counter pain killers like Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen.
A visit to Orthopedic surgeon can help in diagnosis and treatmet.
hope this helps, Thank you,.
