What Causes Severe Pain In The Lower Back?

Hi I am Eli I have a moderate to severe low back pain which has been going on for over 3 years. When it started it used to come and go, Now it has progressed to where when I try to get out of bed in the morning, or when I sit on the sofa, and I try stand up, I feel like I have been hit by 2x4 on my low back. Usually I have stand in my place for some time before I start moving again. 2 years ago, I had an MRI done and I was diagnosed with a spinal spinosis. At the time the neuro surgeon wanted to operate on me, but a lot of people warned from going under a surgery. Today the problem has gotten worse. The pain seem to be permanent not off and on like it used to be. I am willing to listen to a really good advice as too what to do next

General & Family Physician 's  Response
dear eli
I understand you must be having a stenosis in the vertibral canal which results in severe pain.commonly seen in lumbar area.At this situation I would advise to consult a spine surgeon first, to start with the emergency required treatment.
Oral snd topical analgesics with muscle relaxant will give a temporary relief.please do consider for possibility of physiotherapy treatment pre or post surgical requirement.
take care
hope this helps
most welcome for further queries
