Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My Mom, 89 years young, has extreme pain with walking. She has a spot on the side of the ankles that will pop up and look like a blood blister. This morning a large blood blister looking bump came up on the front of her leg about 5 inches above the ankle. The Dr. cannot tell us what is causing this. Do you have a suggestion as to the cause or maybe a remedy.
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
These symptoms are indicating circulatory problems in legs which are common in his age and there may be present atherosclerosis that obstructs blood vessels and causes pain and blisters to form. He should do Doppler ultrasound of the leg or CT angiography to rule out such obstructive changes and then it can be treated properly by medications or by surgical and radiological procedures. ALso, he should have aspirine 100 and have elastic stockings applied, he should avoid cold environment and long walks.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time. Kindly regards. Wish you a good health. DR. Ivan Rommstein
