What Causes Severe Pain In The Joint And Muscles?

Hi there, I ve been having some health issues over the past month but need some help. So in March I restored my once underweight weight to a healthy one. I was getting my period and doing really well. In April I started eating intuitively, and when added up ate about 2200 calories.(I was eating 1800 before, and only eating at night not during the day.) (I am an 18 year old, 5 4 girl who has recovered from anorexia). However Through the month of April until now, I have gained a significant amount of weight. I went from 110 to 140 in less than 4 weeks. I have extreme joint and muscle pain to the point where it hurts to breathe or move sometimes. I sweat a lot, I feel bloated all the time, my body feels like it is swollen, and I constantly have restless legs. I don t eat a perfectly healthy diet, but I don t eat entirely unhealthy either. I am trying to eat like a normal teenager, as I have not done so for over 6 years due to my anorexia. However this extreme pain, swelling and weight gain is terrifying. I really don t know what to do. My mom says its not fat weight, but it sure looks like it. I just don t understand how I could gain so much in so little time.

Hi,

Your weight gain is normal, if you eat more than before you will definitely gain weight within weeks. With regular increase in weight you also need start regular exercise.

If you add up much fat you need to build up certain muscle mass too. For pain you may take Tylenol for immediate relief also get a blood work done for calcium and bone density test too.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
