What Causes Severe Pain In The Ear Due To Infection?
I am taking penicillin for an ear infection. The pain has reduced quite a lot but I am still deaf in my left ear. when should i expect my hearing to improve? I still have 4 days left on the anti biotics. I am a 36 year old female with no previous history of recurring ear problems although my left ear does tend to over produce wax. thank you
If you are left ear pain may be due to wax means you have to remove your wax under doctor guidance.
If pain due to Infection or effusion or Eustachian tube block, then it means that you need to take antibiotics along with that take decongestant tablets like tablet Alday -dc twice a day for five days, and anti-histamines.
Use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling. Avoid cool drinks and cold environment. If symptoms not improved, please consult your ENT doctor, he/she will examine and he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
