Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Severe Pain In The Arms And Legs While Suffering From Cellulitis?
I was in the hospital for 8 days with cellulitis ten weeks ago. I still cannot walk without using a cane, and the last few days I have been having sharp pains running down both arms and both legs. Also, my right knee which is my good knee has been extremely weak and giving out on me. My doctor doesn t think I need to go to neurologist yet. He says it is too early, but I am afraid I will wake up one day and not be able to walk at all. Should I get another opinion, and what do you think may be causing it? I have been doing physical therapy three times a week for 7 weeks now.
Your condition indicates a little bit more than cellulitis. Generalized muscle weakness and pain require a thorough examination including vitamin B levels, complete blood count, acute phase reactants and rheumatologic markers. I strongly suggest a visit to a neurologist. May you recover soon.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr HASAN MUTLU, General & Family Physician
