Hello,

Severe pain in the lower abdomen is commonly because of indigestion, acid reflux, fibroid or endometriosis, UTI, chronic constipation, etc. You can take antacids and PPI's for relief. Take spasmol, (Spasmoproxyvon), one SOS when required. Take laxatives at bed time to ease the discomfort. Stay well hydrated.

Sometimes, proctalgia fugax causes severe pain in the rectum/anus radiating to the vulva (perineal region). You should relax and take spasmolytics, one SOS when required. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get urinalysis (R/E and C/S), CBC, Imaging tests done to rule out fibroid, endometriosis, UTI, etc. If tests results are positive, you will be treated accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
