What Causes Severe Pain In Knee Of An Athletic?

I m a high school athelte and a few months ago I started having knee pains in my right knee. It started in a volleyball practice when I stood up after a hard dig. It felt fine until I put weight on it and then the pain rushed through my knee. It felt like a large air pocket underneath my kneecap. I wasn t able to put any weight on it if it the knee was bent. I decided to rest it and after about a month it went away. Today it came back though. I stood up and the pain was so bad that I fell to the ground. It is the same knee and the same type of pain, but with our first game in less than two weeks, I don t have time to rest it until the pain goes away. Do you have any suggestions?

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, knee is such joint which is very fragile and highly vulnerable to injury, in your case it is advisable to get done the MRI of knee joint, meniscus is matter of concern, hope this information may helps, take care and have a nice day. (Meniscus is the anatomical structure of knee joint which easily breaks up)
I find this answer helpful
