What Causes Severe Pain During Intercourse Along With Pungent Vaginal Discharge?
I was told before I had my daughter I had endometriosis and ovarian cysts. She is now 2 and all the sudden sex with my husband is painful, we just can t have it hardly at all. I started having discharge with an awful smell....the clear discharge stayed strong but the smell left. Then last weekend I started having period like cramps and spotted for a few hours. The bleeding stopped but the discharge and pain continued. Now 4 days later the pressure is constant, I pee it s painful pressure in my lower abdomine, bowl movement same thing. It gets worse when I wipe after. It s like I can feel the pressure all the way thru. I m lost on what to do but it s progressively getting worse not better. For the record I have zero stinging while urinating and the aching is moving into my back
Hello and welcome to HCM, Pain during intercourse and awful smelling discharge is most probably due to pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). Endometriosis can also be the cause of pelvic pain. The cramps and bleeding is most probably due to menstruation. The PID needs to be managed first. The foul smelling discharge needs to be examined microscopically to isolate the infectious agent. I suggest you to consult your gynecologist for examination of discharge and prescription of appropriate anti-microbial effective against the infectious agent. If the symptoms still persist after treatment of infection, further investigations need to be done to assess the endometriosis and ovarian cyst.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
