What Causes Severe Pain, Constipation And Breathlessness Following Hernia Repair?

my husband had triple hernias repaired six days ago via key hole surgery. He is still in a lot of pain. has had to use suppositories to empty his bowels as he hadn t been to the toilet for seven days. His breath is so very vile that it fills the room and you can smell him before you enter the room. Is this a sign of infection? He has little appetite

hello. though it us normal to have constipation and pain after surgery but you should consult the surgeon who has operated upon your husband. what you are describing surely looks like infection. post laproscopic hernia repair though the patient may have pain for a month but it is not normal to have foul smelling breath and breathlessness.
he requires antibiotics. and some supportive medications.
