What Causes Severe Pain Below The Left Collarbone?

I had a pain below my left collarbone while lifting my left arm to wash my hair. The pain got worse and made it very difficult to sleep. The condition improved the next day. This happened once before about 8 months ago. I also have chronic upper and lower back pain that comes and goes. What could be caused this very painful condition?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your history, you have pain below the left collarbone while lifting your left arm. So, I think the most probable cause for this is trauma or injury. Can I come to know whether you have any history of fall or injury to that hand?

Sometimes hand may be pressurized during sleep time, then also it causes pain or due to ligament injury during the trauma causes a long term pain.

I will suggest you to take tablet Zerodol. I will suggest you to do an x-ray off shoulder joint and consult with orthopedician if symptoms get worsened or recurred.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale
