What Causes Severe Pain And Swelling In The Neck?

Hi, A couple days ago I noticed that my neck was sore and had a little swollen spot right where my artery is on the left side down towards my collar bone. the next day it pain was worse and the swelling had gotten bigger. Last night I couldn t sleep to the pain being unbearable and the swelling had gotten about 8x bigger than it was the day before. I m not sure what this could be or what would cause it. Can you please help me out with any ideas you may have.

hi
the increased neck swelling within short duration with pain suggest some infection e.g abscess on or below skin or there may be infected cyst.
-prompt diagnosis with clinical and radio logical examination is required.
if simple abscess is found, incision and drainage with antibiotic coverage will be benificial.
