What Causes Severe Pain And Swelling In Legs?

Hello Doctor, My brother had a severe leg pain and the leg are swollen. we went to hospital and a doctor prescribed to do Blood test, Urine test etc.. The result was normal and he said no problem. we were afraid about some other problem like kidney.We back to home to take rest of him but he had a severe pain so we went to another small hospital just nearby our home, The doctor prescribed a injection 5 times. After had 4 times he got a severe stomach pain and vomiting continuously.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe pain and swelling in legs . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like arthritis , gout , blocked blood vessels , brusitis or broken bone . I would suggest you to give proper rest to your leg , apply warm compresses on it , keep your leg stabilize, keep your leg elevated while lying down and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain . Consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan , MRI or physical examination . Doctor may give plaster , prescribe muscle relaxant along with anti inflammatory and re commend physical therapy . Doctor may also recommend surgical excision .
