What Causes Severe Pain And Stiffness Of The Body?

For 2 weeks I haven t been able to sleep more than 5 hours at a time. I wake with severe pain and stiffness that takes 20-30 minutes of stretching to relieve. I also have weakness in my hands/arms accompanied by occasional tingling. I went to a rheumatologist 2 years ago concerning tendon inflammation, numbness/tingling of fingers and grip weakness. I did 16 weeks of physical therapy and improved. Never got a diagnosis of cause. Should I see the rheumatologist again or start back at square one with my general practitioner?

Rheumatoid arthritis may involve small joints and early morning stiffness in joints, does she have such complain?
Ankylosing spondylitis typically involve spine and hips with other large joint also. There is reduced chest function in this disease. Stiffness in spine is increased does she have such stiffness in spine?
NSAIDs, DMARDs (disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs) are sometimes prescribed in more severe cases. These include methotrexate and sulfasalazine.
You should consult your rheumatologist again.
