What Causes Severe Lower Back Pain?

From a recent urine test it stated that there was a growth in the sample however the urine is not foul smelling and is clear. I do have a terrible pain in my back and left kidney area which is very painful especially at night - what does this mean ? I d be grateful for your interpretation of this Many thanks Bethan Thomas

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You have mentioned there is some growth present in urine sample test that may be because of kidney infection or other kidney condition. Mention your urine report in detail. Do a complete blood cell count also for further diagnosis. Consult a nephrologist for further diagnosis.

Physical examination and history give exact idea about problems. Proper antibiotics course under doctor's suggestion help in kidney infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rachana Goswami
