What Causes Severe Lower Abdominal Pain?

Hi. I have had lower abdominal pain, as well as pain on the right side of my belly button for almost 6 months now, off and on. It has become pretty severe. None of the doctors I have seen have known. I have been told possible colon problem or maybe ovarian cysts. But I was wondering if my sprintec birth control could be the issue. Could that be causing the pain?

Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
Sprintek birth control also can cause the problem that you have.
Your history of pain in lower abdomen and to the right of abdomen is suggestive of colitis or so.
I would advise you the following:
Colonoscopy
CT scan of the abdomen.
Tests of stool for 3 consecutive days.
Tests of blood and urine too.
All these investigations will lead to diagnosis and plan for treatment.
