Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Severe Knee Pain After A Total Knee Replacement Surgery?
I had total knee replacement in December 2014, 1 manipulation in February 2015 and arthroscopic scar tissue removed and manipulation in May 2015. My knee only bends 80 degrees and still have severe pain. Feels like road rash on knee cap and feels like little pebbles in knee joint. Do you think this is scar tissue? Doc has suggested that and nerve damage. Doesn t want to do another surgery. I m unable to function without narcotic pain meds and want off them!!!
According to the history you provide to be sure if there is nothing new with your knee I recommend you to do an MRI of the knee. If the result is due tot he scat than no surgery is indicated and probably physiotherapy is needed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Jnikolla, Pulmonologist
