What Causes Severe Joints And Muscle Pain?

Yes, thank you. I was wondering if there are some sort of side effects from a brown recluse spider bite. I was bitten at the end of January and I am now experiencing major pain in my joints and muscles. I don t know if this is associated with the bite or if something else is happening. I can hardly get out of bed let alone walk in the morning. Throughout the day with major doses of ibuprophen I can somewhat maneuver throughout the day. If I sit I have a hard time standing. Also the pain in my arms is making me weak. Wow, I was not aware there were charges for this. I guess I will need to find a dr. to see after all. I would rather pay you for your services if I am satisfied with what I am told

Dear patient,

insect bites, in particular ticks, may be harmful by direct poisoning or because they "transfer" pathogens to the bitten organism. I think you should do tests to exclude a rickettsia infection, since it is characterized by the so called "touch noir". Thus I would do CBC, CRP, weil-felix reaction and, in the doubt, a cycle of tetracycline antibiotics for 2 weeks.
