What Causes Severe Itching Sensation And Redness On Ankles?

hi, last night i was at work, i do catering, i worked 12 hours straight! i wear super support hose but i had cut the feet out just above the ankles, i put on my ankle socks and went to work. toward the end of the function,i noticed my skin was itching and got really red almost like hives. i now have this terrible red mark on each leg that resembles deep red hive it is tender to touch and it is swollen and my ankles are slighty swollen,i am a little concerned. can you give me an answer?

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have itching sensation and redness on ankles which could be due to fungal infection and allergic reaction. I would suggest you shroud start with tablet of cetirizine 10 mg once daily for symptomatic relief from itching. Apply moderately potent topical steroid of triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% cream twice daily at affected sites.You should visit dermatologist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription.
