What Causes Severe Itching Sensation All Over Body?

Yes please. I have a good friend that started itching in several places on her body. It has gradually spread almost over her total body. She has seen numerous doctors and they give her creams and lotions which do very little for relief and no results of getting rid of it. Could gleutin allergy be the cause? Are there certain foods she should avoid? She is dealing with this every day and it has lasted more than 6 months. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you. Rebecca

I understand your concern for your friend.
Yes, severe itching sensation all over the body is due to an allergic reaction. It could be caused due to eating of certain type of food or due to exposure to some dust or pollen in the environment.
To overcome this and stabilize first to normal, she can take tablet levocetrizine for about 2 weeks. Then following a week or ten days later, she could visit to an allergy testing centre and get tested for which compound she could be allergic to.
Based on the report, she could avoid them totally or take measures to overcome them if she is getting exposed to.
