Hello. About 10 years ago, my the back of my head itched terribly, especially when I was trying to sleep. The itching was awful; I hardly got any sleep. I went to my family doctor. Then I went to the dermatologist, who found nothing in or on my scalp. From there I went to an allergist. My head continued to itch for a long time, when I went back to my primary care doctor. Many years ago I was in an auto accident, and my neck was injured. As a result, I began to have migraine headaches, and was prescribed amitriptyline. (I hardly have anymore headaches, and when I do, I take an excedrin, which stops the headaches.) Regarding the Itching head-- Is this a result of my accident--nerve endings, maybe? My doctor prescribed duloxetine, which has alleviated some of the itching. My question is this: does duloxetine help with the itching, or is it prescribed exclusively as an antidepressant?
