What Causes Severe Itchiness On The Thighs?

Hi, I am a 21 year old unmarried female. For several weeks now, it s been more than a month.. I have been experiencing intense itching on the inner thighs, and around the pudental region (though not around or in the vaginal region). The lesions appear red, and also form small papules on the itching area. I have been applying Clotrimazole+betamethasone cream for a while. When i didn t find any relief, administered 3 doses of Azithromycin. Still no relief... Please help... As I feel embarassed to consult a doctor in person, please help.

My Dear

Welcome to Healthcaremagic

I have analysed your issue and arrived at the following suggestions

1 you should not be worried as this most likely is ringworm infection. the description matches the stated infection.

2 You should keep the area dry and maintain very good hygiene especially during periods

3 Such infections invariable respond well to locally applied Miconazole and orally taken Terbinafine

4 It is quite helpful if you take Antillargics like Cetirizine once a day to combat itching

5 You are advised to refrain from using betamethasone preparartions since these steroids may prove a hurdle in recovery despite controlling the itchiness in the initial period of application.

Hopefully you will be well soon.
