What Causes Severe Heartburn While On Doxycycline?
I am taking doxycycline for suspected Lyme Disease. I causes me very painful heartburn (I often have bouts of GERD anyway). An omeprazole delayed-release tablet each morning relieves the heartburn symptoms. But I am wary that it interferes with the action of the doxycycline. Is it okay to take ANY omeprazole during the course of my doxycycline treatment? If so, should I make sure to allow two hours between taking the omeprazole and my first daily dose of the doxycycline?

Stomach upset and heartburn are common side effects of Doxycycline.
I suggest to use a Omeprazole in the morning before breakfast.
I also suggest to maintain a healthy diet and avoid food that can trigger the symptoms.
