I have acid reflex. I have had a operation on my tube to my stomach as a result of this problem. part of the tube had cancer and was removed. the stomach was moved up and joined the tube. I had this operation about a year ago. The same heartburn is no coming back. I take many vitamin pills and an lookin for a anti acid pill to correct this condition.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

The symptoms are due to severe acid reflux.

As of now, you can take antacids like Omeprazole or Pantoprazole for symptomatic relief.

Avoid hot and spicy foods and try to sleep with your head end slightly elevated.

If symptoms persist you can try Misoprostol.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
