What Causes Severe Heartburn After Taking Nexium?

I am 25 I am in a dr program for physical therapy. I am very busy and somewhat stressed out. I have bad heartburn ,have been on 40 mg nexium for over 6 weeks. I sometimes feel I have trouble breathing. I exercise with weights 4 times aweek. I am in excellent t health. I occasionally smoke marijuana. I had an endoscopy that showed inflammation in my esophagus and slight erosion in my stomach. I have also been having heart palpitations recently? My Gastroenterologist sent the endo and the biopsies to a pathologist . We are waiting for results from him. I am very nervous

You are active young person who is active with exercises and occasional use of marijuana,now has burning sensation chest and palpitations.You have taken up endoscopy which showed erosion oesophagus and stomach.Your worry is could it be more than that.
Do not worry..

You are very active to do weight lifting and maintaining a sense of good health like being active,we do not expect more.

You are stressed out and you smoke marijuana,may be a reason for gastritis.Very severe oesophagitis present with chest tightness.

Any way you have undergone testing like biopsy and endocrinologist opinion also.Go ahead as the investigation report guides.

Till then may be you can continue nexium and reduce your stress level,weight lifts and stop that marijuana how less and occasional use be.
