What Causes Severe Heart Burn, Acid Reflux And Hiatal Hernia?
just had an upper Gi (scoop) to check out my pancreas 5 days ago.... I have a hital hernia , major acid reflux stop spincher tase open... been having sevir heart burn chest pain burning sensation for 3 days took maalox 2 ranitidine 21 pantoloc nothing is working ...could this be because of the GI test done that kind of mix up my stomac on a scale from 1 to 10 I fell like an 8. plase help
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Since Upper GI Endoscopy has already been done and showing hiatal hernia, major acid reflux, lower sphincter open upper GI usually is not known to increase these symptoms as the problem is already present and possibly stress and anxiety might have caused the symptoms to increase. Since the lower sphincter of esophagus is open you need an additional medications which may help to tighten it like Metocloprapamide. Also take antacids with anesthetic agent every three hours. Take bed rest and reduce the anxiety and stress. Soft bland diet. Good sleep and avoid tea, coffee, alcohol and such factors that instigate or enhance your problems.
