What Causes Severe Headaches?

My Father who is 86 experienced wavy lines followed by difficulty with his speech. He has had many head aches throughout his life. Is this a TIA or symptoms of a migraine? He did not tell any of us about this for several days so wondering if it is too late to be examined.

Hello
Went through your post, your father visual disturbances and dysarthria (speech problem) which has been there for more than 24hrs, that means it is a stroke although seems mild, a brain CT scan will identify the site of lesion and treatment will be decided after that.
It is never late for treatment of patient to consult a doctor although initial two to four hours are golden period.

Regards
