sudden intolerable headache i have sufferrd from migraine headaches since i was five. normally i get one to two a month. 7 weeks ago i felt what seemed like a migraine in the back of my head including blurred vison and vomiting. but also forgot a period of time. i do not recall driving to work that day. could not even tell you which route i took. i have these incidences every other day since then. but this week has by far been the worst. tonight is the most painful. pain level is a for sure ten. feels like a lot of pressure almost as tho my brains are going to come out my ears. lots of vomiting. i have tried all of my tricks to help and it is getting worse. have an appointment to see a neurologist but the appointment keeps being pushed out. and i need help now. is there anything i can do to ease the pain? anybidea what could be causing this? i am 20 years old 5'7 and about 180 female
Hi, as there is change in character of headache with forgetfullness so I advise you to do MRI brain to r/o intracranial pathology. If Mri comes out to be normal then treatment will be on the lines of migraine. As you are having severe migraine with aura , I would advise you to take triptans like sumatriptan, rizatriptan for acute attacks . You are advised following medicines for prevention- Tab propranolol Tab amitriptyline, nortriptyline Tab gabapentin ,valproate You are advise to take proper bed rest and adequate sleep and food at proper time. You are also advised to do mental relaxation yoga and exercises. Thanks
