What causes severe headache and pain in eyes with lack of vision after a cataract surgery?
My Dad got operated for catract few days back and post catract he is expereincing severe headache and pain in the eyes and no vision.Upon consulting the doctor he informed that it was due to intraoptic pressure and a mild corneal odema, no cells and no ccc.My dad has undergone diabetic retinopathy before and is of 57 years. Should i be panic about this. Could please let me know why he is experiencing impared vision.
I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that your dad who was operated for cataract surgery is having lack of vision with severe pain. This can be because of raised intraocular pressure as your doctor has told you and needs to be treated by the use of antiglaucoma drugs like acetazolamide and timolol. This should come down in 1-2 weeks. The other causes that needs to be ruled out inflammation or infection of the eye. If the symptoms persist do consult your ophthalmologist for examination and treatment accordingly.
