What Causes Severe Headache After Taking Diamicron?

Began taking diamicron (gliclazide) for high glucose and now having daily headaches. Also taking 2000 metformin, and an aspirin stomach guard, for pain due to PMR. How do I reduce my blood sugar - watching diet and getting excercise. Help would be appreciated.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

All medications have potential side effects and diamicron can cause headaches in some persons so it is possible that it is responsible for your headache.

You may need to speak to your doctor about an alternative or your metformin can be increased if it is not at maximum dose and the you are able to tolerate it.

Using your medication as prescribed, making sure to use a healthy diet with at least 150 minutes of exercise a week would help with blood sugar control.

I hope this helps
