What Causes Severe Headache After A Nose Fracture?
I took a severe full body face plant and landed on my forehead and nose in early December. This was not the first time that I have fallen and been treated medically like it was nothing serious. I did not go to the doctor that time. It took about a month for the lump on my forehead to go down. I am not sure if I fractured my nose but I did cut it. It may sound stupid that I didn t go to the doctor but past history has been very unsatisfactory. Doesn t seem to matter what I tell them, they don t hear me. I need to lose weight, and that is all they seem to focus on. I have daily front lobal pressure. Seems to diminish some when I take OTC headache meds. Last Friday I was taking a shower and had a sudden excruciating pain throughout my head that seemed to last forever, although it was probably about a minute. I have never experienced that much pain and wasn t sure I was going to survive it. I massaged my head for at least 5 minutes before I was able to get out of the shower. Now I am back to having the forehead pressure daily unless resting and medicating. I don t really know where to turn. Would a MRI or another test help determine if something serious was happening? If so, how do I get a doctor to order it? I am really struggling and extremely frustrated.
Once the hematoma is resolved and other healing has been obtained, there should not be a persistent headache unless there are possible internal unhealed areas.
I recommend a consult with neuro-physician and get an MRI done.
