Hi, I have a problem with my hair. I have had falling hair over 7 years now. when combing or brushing my hair comes out with the white bulb at the tip. I use to have full hair now its medium to fine (curly hair). I recently visited a hairdressor who is aspiring to become a trichologist and she did an assessment with a machine and it showed that I have a hair fungus located in the scalp that is invisible to the human eye. She said I got it from a hairdressor and that the fungus is called tinea . She told me to use a tinea cream in the scalp to feed the fungus. I have been doing that a while and in my 2nd assessment it shows that it s still there. what can I use to make it go away.
Hello Welcome to health care magic. Tinea of the scalp is a disease seen in children. It rarely affects adults. The scaling seen during trichoscopic examination is most likely due to dandruff. Dandruff can very well be controlled by a Ketoconazole containing shampoo. For hair loss and dandruff please consult a dermatologist for proper assessment and management. Hope this helped. Take care.
