What Causes Severe Hair Loss While On Steroids?

I Dave been experiencing diffuse hair loss since Augusy of 2015, I was on steroids in May and then injections of the drug directly into the spine, I am 75 on several blood pressure pills, thyroid and hormone patch 3 weeks on, I week of,also progesterone 3 rd week and then off. I have severe arthritis also. I take 1/2 pill atenolol am and pm,,terrazzo lib 1 mg...2 in am 1 in pm...minoxidil 2.5 one in am 1 in pm..spironlactone Hctz . Levothyroid 100 mcg. I am currently getting injections into my scalp every 6 weeks And using topical minoxidil daily. what could cause the hair loss?

Hi.
As per your case history you are having telogen effluvium, my treatment advice is -
1. Take good nutritious diet full of green leafy vegetables and milk.
2. Use coconut hair oil and good herbal shampoo.
3. Take an iron supplement and vitamin b12 supplement once daily for 3 months.
4. Other treatment options are oral vitamin d3, injectable vitamin b12 given only after consulting a dermatologist.
