What Causes Severe Fatigue And Nausea With History Of Having Rheumatoid Arthritis?

His I have been having extreme weakness, occasional dizziness and intermittent low-grade fever. I had an episode where these symptoms were very bad and I fell and could not get up. Due to that fall, I exacerbated a back problem (spondylolisthesis) and have extreme back pain radiating down my right leg. I have an epidural injection scheduled next week and being followed by a neurosurgeon. My concern are the other symptoms of the extreme fatigue, weakness. I have a history of rheumatoid arthritis, follicular thyroid cancer with total thyroidectomy. Any thoughts appreciated. Patricia Porter (age 57)

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think that extreme fatigue and nausea are related to thyroid issues. I believe that you should increase the dosage of thyroid hormones you already take for total thyroidectomy. Also, arthritis may contribute to pain and nausea. Take anti-inflammatory drugs to treat arthritis.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
