What Causes Severe Earache?

my ears are hurting so much. I also feel like hot air is coming out of it. Others s/s include headache, sore throat that worsens at night. I sometimes hear a popping sound when I eat, An audiogram revealed that I have mixed hearing loss (mild) on that ear (R). No pain meds given. He also suggested oteroslerosis. At this poin I just want to yank off the ear and keep on going w/o it. Hx of eczema but not sure if it s related to these s/s. Thank you!!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I evaluated your concern in depth. Severe earache is in relation with osteosclerosis giving rise to:
• Lucent type abnormal bone growth in the middle ear, damage of sensory cells and/or nerve fibers of the inner ear
• Can consume analgesic Tylenol for pain relief without any side effects.
Hearing loss can be compensated with hearing aid, total cure is surgery only.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel
