What Causes Severe Ear Pain After A Tonsillectomy?

Hello, I had a tonsillectomy last Monday 7/11/2016. My recovery has been very rough but today my voice is a little stronger, I can eat foods that are a little harder than liquids, and the pain has gone down. However a I have one problem, there is a big red bump sticking out from the upper left corner next to my uvula. It hurts really bad and it cause intense ear pain when touched. What is that?

Hello,

As first-line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist better to consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
