My doctor prescribe gabapentin and its overwhelming, so now he has prescribed atarax which use to make me feel kinda wired. Just don t understand what is going to work for me. I am an alcoholic and having trouble fo9r a long time with depression and high anxiety fear. Just recently retired and left husband and don t know how to function anymore. Im sad and scared \

Gabapentin acts through the brain and can lead to a feeling of heaviness and dullness. For you I would suggest Fluoxetine 40 mg a day. But it is a prescription drug. Please discuss with your doctor--regards
