What Causes Severe Cramps In The Upper Abdomen?

Hi I have a 17 yr old teenage daughter. She is experiencing worsening cramps in the upper abdomen area of her stomach. The stomach is very sensitive to the touch and hard like it s swollen and tightened. She is enjoys sushi and was eating often last summer. She has had very loose bowl movements which is not normal for her. She was always very regular but has not had a normal bowl movement in for months.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I do understand your concern. What I do recommend is:

1. Stop smoking or drinking (if she is).

2. Eat a regularly diet with fibers and stop fast food or stop any diet to lose weight.

3. If symptoms persists, please have your full blood laboratory exams and your stools exams also.

4. Check a gastrologist so he can prescribe any medication for gastritis or ulcer. He may be will suggest a gastrofiberscopia.

First start with the first two point, then follow the steps.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further,

Best regards,
Eni
