What Causes Severe Cramps In The Torso While Having Spinal Stenosis In Thoracic Region?
HI. I am a 52 year old female with thoracic spinal stenosis. I have multiple bone spurs on my thoracic vertibre. How can I stop the severe cramps I am getting in my torso. They extend from the upper rib cage to my stomach and lower intentional area. A couple of hours ago they were severe enough that the whole right side of my stomach shifted over to the left leaving a concave area. Scared me and my daughter.

What Causes Severe Cramps In The Torso While Having Spinal Stenosis In Thoracic Region?
Hello, To ease the severe cramps in your torso extending from the upper rib cage to your stomach and lower abdominal area should do as following: - take the pain medications as prescribed by your doctor (e.g. anti-inflammatories, and muscle relaxants) - try to rest more, especially after physical activity. This is because physical activity will induce a flare up - physical therapy and chiropractic can help Apply analgesic or muscle relaxant spray or gel. Do massage with essential oils. If still no improvement, should see an orthopaedic specialist. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
