What Causes Severe Cramps In The Lower Back And Abdomen?
I have had 2 separate episodes, last May and today where I woke up in the middle of the night with severe cramps in my lower back and abdomen. This was during day 2 or 3 of my period. Bleeding is normal and the cramps are crippling for a few hours and then stops. I then have slept for several hours and then feel very weak the rest of the day.

Symptoms of dysmenorhea. Sometime it may increase depending upon various reason (Puberty bleeding-young age, fibroid-late age associated pathology or many time is normal also). You have not mentioned age.
You should take antispasmodic
Tab Drotin-M twice for three days with Multivitamin -Tab Zincovit one tablet twicw for 5 days.
Take planty of fluids/jiuce and rest for 2-3 days
