What Causes Severe Cramps In Cervix After Having Intercourse While On IUD?
After sex I started to get terrible cramps and it hurt to change positions, walk or sit straight up. I have IUD and thought maybe it got moved so I checked the strings. When I touched my cervix to check it made the cramping so much worse. The next morning I still had cramps but not as bad, it hurt to sit, my lower tummy hurts when I press down and my cervix still felt very sore. I went to the hospital since my ob didn t have an appt until December and they did a CT scan and said all my organs look fine, my blood work came back fine and my IUD is in the right place. What could be causing this pain?

Was the IUCD placed recently?
Insertion of IUCD is associated with certain side effects like cramping pain, heavy bleeding, irregular menstrual cycles, etc.
The cramping pain you experienced could be possibly due to IUCD.
On the contrary, it is quite possible that the pain could be due to some other cause besides IUCD like onset of menstruation.
The CT scan revealed that the IUCD is in right place so there is nothing much to worry.
However, if the pain recurs and the menstrual cycles have not started, please consult your gynecologist promptly.
In the meanwhile, you can take anti-spasmodic to control the cramping pain.
