What causes severe coughing during night time?

In the late evening, just prior to going to bed, and then once in bed for about 1 - 2 hours, I have been experiencing coughing. At first it is whopping / croup sounding, then it starts to get productive . Then it seems as if my lungs start to rattle, creating more mucus that wasn t there before (it seemed) and I continue to cough and cough until suddenly, it s as if it s all out. I ve tried allergy pills. Benedryl. Air purifier all the time. It happens in any season. This has been happening more and more, whereas previously it only happened about 1x a month. What could be the cause?

I really appreciate your concern, such cough symptoms could be due to some allergic condition and it can be best treated with "Tab Loratadine with pseudoephedrine" three times in day, drink more water hot drink would be much helpful hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
