What Causes Severe Cough And Dry Mouth After Taking Effexor?
My husband was taking lexapro and recently changed to effexor. This was increased to 75mg twice a day about 3 weeks ago and in the past 10 days he has had increase in cough, dry mouth, and way more easily agitated. Could this be related to the effexor?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain the symptoms of cough, dry mouth and irritability are all commonly known side effects of Effexor and as the dose is increased the symptoms have become more severe..
I would suggest you to consult your treating physician and get him evaluated and dose reduction or switching to Lexapro again can help in improving the symptoms..
As of now to reduce dryness in mouth and cough which can also be agitated due to Dry mouth and throat due to irritation in throat caused by dryness..
He can chew sugar free chewing gum, suck tart candies, instill artificial saliva drops and drink plenty of water.. Take sufficient rest and do meditation to prevent anxiety..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
